The Calendar is my enemy

So lately I feel like I am constantly looking at the calendar. I'm wondering when things will start moving along. Our final selections were completed last week and our SR said the next step was sending the info to production so that the supplies could be ordered and that she would be getting in touch with me to arrange the Preconstruction meeting which should now be about 2 weeks out....There are 2 homes that are under construction near me. Lot 25 has really made progress and last time I checked on Saturday the framing was basically done! I have been trying to figure out what model it is and I think it may be a Rome? I need to look a little closer next time to be sure. Lot 31 had the footers poured and so far that's it. I hope ours starts to go up next, but I think there may be one that gets going before ours, but it will be close...I was looking at the floor plans on the RH website and things have drastically changed since we signed our contract. Now the Venice can have a tray ceiling in the Master BR, and the attic can include a bedroom and bathroom. I would have LOVED all of the above, but I can imagine that would cost a pretty penny. I would really consider the tray ceiling for our room depending on the cost and what our SR says. That would be beautiful :) Still no word from NVR. It's been 30 days and I'm hoping for a phone call or letter soon. The hubby says he isn't making any purchases for the house until he gets the approval.

I'm home from work today because one of the twins had a fever last night of 102.3- no other symptoms of being sick though. He woke up this morning and felt fine, but when I checked his temp at noon it was 101.3- so he had another round of Motrin. If it continues throughout the day then we might take a trip to the Dr. tomorrow. It could possibly be the onset of an ear infection since we have been swimming a lot lately, but there haven't been any complaints about pain or anything. I guess I will just pray and wait.

Another reason the Calendar has been haunting me is the fact that my Birthday is this weekend. Time to leave my 20's behind and embrace being 30 and responsible :)

  1. The Tray Ceiling is the one thing I really wanted in our home!! I was pretty upset too when I noticed this was on the revised floor plan.
I am also curious how they could have added a bathroom and bedroom in the attic; our version doesn't even have space in the attic. They must've added a lot in that area.

Our SR also mentioned that even though the revised floor plan is on the website, it is not approved throughout the Pittsburgh area to begin selling yet. They are still selling the previous version.

  2. RH usually won't add you to their production schedule until they either get a warm and fuzzy from NVR when they send you to underwriting or when you have been approved. Either way, the ball is in NVR's court. You may want to call your LO or Loan processor and find if/when they are sending you to underwriting. It usually only takes 7 days or so. Then you when you get the approval letter it comes with a ridiculous list conditions. Things that probably don't even have to be written down. Not sure if this list will make you mad or not but I had to bite down hard on my tongue and remember why were going through this process. This is fresh in my mind because I am currently working on our final list of requirements for closing (It's a whole new list...different from the previous list and duplicates of stuff I already submitted them).

    2. Oh my gosh you guys are making me nervous!! I called my LO on 6/7 to follow up and she said that she had already submitted our file (I'm assuming that means submitted to the LP)and that everything was all good- but I'm going to give her another call today because I would really like to know where we stand because it's been 30 days since our appt. Thanks for the input!

  3. Sorry about your sick kids. I am with you on the waiting game. We waited six months before they broke ground and now we are 60 days til the house is done. It will start soon and then hang on and prepare for a wild ride.

  4. Hi, We are considering building a Venice and the SR gave us an options/price list this past weekend. That attic is REALLY expensive. In our community it's priced at 33k, 38k if you want a bedroom up there. I think that price would probably deter alot of people from adding it.

    1. Wow, that is pricey. It would be super nice to have that additional space, but we will have a finished basement plus the additional storage room in the basement from adding the morning room. There's no way I could have justified spending 38K for that.

  5. Well happy early birthday mine is the 3rd and I left my 30s last year so I feel your pain on that! As far as NVR I hear they like to put everybody through underwriting before they call you or send you the approval don't worry it will be approved soon!
